An Analysis on China’s Creative Service Trade and Evolution of it’s Competitiveness

Creative service trade, which is becoming a powerful drvier of global trade development,has achieved rapid growthin recent years, along with the creative industry’s fast rising as astrategic priority of developed & developing economies.The growth rate of China’s creative service trade is much higher than that of world average and China’s balance of trade has changed to surplus from deficit. However, China’s status in world creative service trade is still in the lower position. The international competitiveness of China’s creative and related service is also at a lower level, but showing a gradually enhanced trend, according to the results measured by TC index and CA index. To make the competitive strength of China’s creative service fast grow, creative and related service should be fostered as astrategicemerging item ofChina’s service industry; theurgently needed scarce factors of production should beintroduced and bred; astatististical information system for creative service trade and an inter-ministerial institutional mechanism to steer the development of creative service should be established.
